Michael Persky from North California recently defeated a field of 594 professional poker players to bag his second WSOP Circuit Main Event Ring and pocket $170,780. His most recent victory comes just 49 days after his first WSOP Circuit Main Event win. Talk about back-to-back wins!

Michael Persky Wins His Second World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event Ring

On August 21, 2023, Persky received his first gold ring from the World Series of Poker Circuit. The Novato, California citizen defeated 616 competitors to win a slightly higher payout of $175,595 in the $1,700 buy-in no-limit hold'em main event at the Graton Casino & Resort. This event is played on Texas Hold'em with No Limit rules, meaning the bet amounts could rise infinitely.

Only 49 days after that notable victory, Persky successfully navigated a WSOP Circuit main event field in Northern California, United States, to earn a second gold ring and another six-figure prize. This event happened at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, one of the leading casinos in the region.

After the win, the player remarked:

"This is unbelievable! I know how hard this is. I tell people,' I won the WSOP main event… Twice, now! I need to go home. My wife, my kids, my dogs, and my business are waiting. I haven't missed a day's work when I was winning Graton, and I literally haven't missed anything here. I'm a contractor. I take nothing for granted, nothing."

Interestingly, Persky only has eight live event scores on his record. But as few as they are, this gives him total earnings of $415,000 from playing poker

Persky's two successful title runs have also netted him plenty of ranking points. He received 840 Card Player of the Year points for each of those victories. Persky has 2,080 points after adding the 400 he received for finishing second in a $600 event in the WSOPC Graton series and winning the main event. He is in the top 150 players according to Global Poker's 2023 POY standings.
